The role of Balbriggan Town Council is to provide civic leadership for the people of Balbriggan, represent their concerns and needs with Fingal County Council, Government Departments and other Statutory Bodies and to promote the town as a good place to live, work and visit.
The Town Council comprises nine elected members who are elected for a term of five years. They are supported by a Town Manager, a Town Clerk and administrative staff assigned from Fingal County Council.
The ongoing growth in Balbriggan and its surrounding area serves to underline the importance of the Town Council’s role. It is also important to note the inter- dependency and the need for cooperation that exits between Balbriggan Town Council and Fingal County Council in serving the people of Balbriggan. The Council prides itself in its involvement with the many community and voluntary groups that seek to improve the quality of life in Balbriggan through community and environmental initiatives.
